2. Personal Data Collected and Processing

Most interactive simulators, blog posts, and arXiv research summaries are fully accessible without registration or submitting any personal data. However, when utilizing advanced interactive features, we process the following data categories:

  • User Authentication Data: When registering or logging in via third-party providers (such as Google Sign-In), Google Firebase collects your display name, email address, profile photo, and unique user identifier (UID).
  • Progress Records, XP Passport and History: We store and synchronize your game scores, times, personal bests, chess ELO, streaks, and cognitive badges in a secure cloud database (Google Cloud Firestore).
  • Monthly Newsletter Subscription: When a user voluntarily checks the "SUSCRÍBETE" (Subscribe) box during login or within their profile dashboard, we collect their email address, display name, and subscription timestamp. These records are securely stored in the suscriptores collection in Cloud Firestore.
  • Web Contact Form Inquiries: When submitting an inquiry via our contact form, we collect the submitted name/alias, return email address, and message text. Submissions are processed via the secure FormSubmit gateway and delivered directly to contacto@logidias.com.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data strictly for the following purposes:

  • Authenticate users and synchronize interactive simulator progress, XP Passports, and personal achievements across multiple devices and browsers.
  • Generate and display public leaderboards (Global Rankings) for individual simulators.
  • Monthly Newsletter delivery: Dispatch a monthly curated digest with new Science Blog publications, arXiv Frontier Radar discoveries, and recommended interactive modules.
  • User Support: Review and answer questions, bug reports, and suggestions received via the contact form or direct email.

The legal basis is explicit user consent (Art. 6.1.a of the GDPR), provided when signing in, opting into the newsletter, or submitting the contact form, as well as our legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) to address inbound communications.

4. Data Recipients and Technology Providers

Your personal data is never sold, rented, or transferred to third parties for advertising or commercial monetization. We rely solely on trusted technical infrastructure providers:

  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC): Authentication (Firebase Auth) and cloud database (Cloud Firestore). International data transfers are protected under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission.
  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co): Technical gateway routing web form submissions securely over encrypted HTTPS/SSL to contacto@logidias.com.

5. User Rights (GDPR Rights) & Newsletter Cancellation

Under EU and Spanish data protection laws, you retain rights of access, rectification, erasure (right to be forgotten), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You may revoke consent at any time:

6. Data Retention

Account and progress records are maintained while your account remains active and no erasure request has been submitted. Newsletter subscription records are kept until you choose to unsubscribe. Inquiries submitted through the contact form are retained only for the duration necessary to resolve the inquiry.

7. No Behavioral Advertising Cookies (No Google AdSense)

LOGIDIAS does not use behavioral advertising cookies or ad networks such as Google AdSense. We do not profile users or track browsing activities across third-party websites.

8. External Links, Blog and arXiv Preprints

The Science Blog and arXiv Radar contain hyperlinks to scientific publications and open-access repositories (such as arXiv.org). LOGIDIAS is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites.
